Energetic Practices to Feel Rad

Let’s face it—sometimes life is throwing us curveballs–unpleasant surprises that creates mounting pressures on our mental, emotion and even physical health. Between demanding careers, caregiving roles, societal expectations, and the relentless pursuit of material success, many of us are running on empty. Burnout isn’t a buzzword anymore; it’s a baseline. And the truth? Most people aren’t feeling “rad.” They’re feeling ragged. But what if burnout isn’t a dead end? What if it’s a wake-up call? Life isn’t about a gradual decline of your human experience. It’s about a consistent elevation towards fulfillment. And sometimes the best way to shift the trajectory of your life isn’t another efficiency hack—it’s a total energetic reset.
The Problem: Overdrive and Overwhelmed
Let’s talk reality. If you’re like most Gen Xers I work with, you’ve built a life full of responsibility, achievement, and service. You’ve climbed the ladder. Held it for others. And somewhere along the way, you forgot what it feels like to wake up excited. To move through the day with clarity instead of chaos. You’re always “on”—but rarely present. You need a solution that is not an escape, but a recalibration. Welcome to the world of energetic practices—ancient technologies for modern transformation. These aren’t woo-woo distractions. They’re practical, powerful tools that help you come back to yourself. To your mind. To your body. To your own entire being
The Shift: From Exhausted to Electric
I discovered Qigong and other energy-based modalities after a personal experience with being out of balance and off-center. My body was showing signs of depletion. My spirit felt flatlined. I didn’t need another goal. I needed a new operating system. Qigong, an ancient movement and breath practice from Traditional Chinese Medicine, became my gateway drug to feeling radically alive. It’s like meditation in motion—a blend of breathwork, gentle movement, and intention that literally rewires your nervous system. And it’s not just ancient wisdom—science backs it up. A 2020 study published in Complementary Therapies in Medicine found that regular Qigong practice significantly reduced anxiety, depression, and fatigue in participants over just eight weeks. Another study from the Journal of Aging Research showed improvements in balance, immune function, and quality of life in older adults practicing Qigong regularly. Translation? This stuff works.
The Benefits: Why Energy Work Is the New Edge
Energetic practices aren’t about checking out—they’re about plugging in. Here’s what I’ve seen with clients, and in my own transformation:
• Clarity returns. The mental fog lifts, and suddenly decisions feel intuitive instead of impossible.
• Vitality expands. You stop pushing through and start moving with power and grace.
• Emotional resilience grows. You become less reactive and more responsive. Life stops knocking you over. You are able to navigate and function amidst the chaos.
• Purpose reawakens. You reconnect with what matters—on your terms. And maybe most radically of all? You start to feel… good. Not just “functional.” Not just “fine.” But freaking alive. Turned on. Lit up. RAD.
Practices to Start Feeling Rad Again
If you’re new to this space, don’t worry—you don’t need to become a monk or move to a mountaintop. You can start small. Start real. Here are a few ways to experiment:
• 5-minute Qigong flow in the morning. Just breathing, grounding, and gentle movement to reset your energy.
• Point Tapping to revitalize and energize—because stuck emotion is just energy that needs motion.
• Qigong energy healing sessions to clear old patterns and open new channels of creativity and calm. Essentially providing healing, transformation and energetic optimization.
• Walking meditations to combine movement, breath, and awareness without adding anything to your schedule. These practices aren’t about becoming someone new. They’re about remembering who you already are—before the burnout, before the roles, before the noise.
The Invitation: Reclaim Your Energy, Reclaim Your Life
Here’s the thing: the next phase of your life doesn’t need to be slower—it just needs to be more you. If you’re standing at the edge of a reinvention, energetic practices can be the bridge between exhaustion and exhilaration. And if you’re too busy serving others, I have a saying from my book, “Business Kung Fu,” which is, “Be of service to self, so you can be of service to others for a lifetime.” So do something for you. Reset and energize because you are no good to the people
you love and care for if you exhausted and dead inside. You don’t need another productivity app. You need a revolution from the inside out. We’ve spent decades proving ourselves. Now it’s time to be ourselves. To move, breathe, and experience the awesomeness of every moment. So let’s make it rad. Let’s make it real. Let’s make it energized
