What is YOUR Declaration of Independence?

As we celebrate Independence Day and begin America’s 250th year, I came across a couple of thought-provoking articles that reminded me that declarations of independence aren’t only made by nations.

Sometimes they’re made by people rebelling against the status quo…just as it was in 1776!

Not on parchment, but in quiet moments when we decide…

I’m no longer going to live someone else’s definition of success.

I’m done letting fear make my decisions.

I’m choosing health over hustle.

I’m releasing resentment.

I’m creating more margin.

I’m protecting my peace.

I’m making room for joy, curiosity, and meaningful relationships.

For me, my own Declaration of Independence has been this:

“I declare my independence from living a life driven by obligation, urgency, and external expectations. I choose to build a life intentionally—one defined by freedom, meaningful work, deep relationships, lifelong learning, and creating experiences that help others live more fully.”

That’s what Freedom Always has come to mean for me.

Not freedom from responsibility.

Freedom to become the person we’re capable of becoming.

So here’s my question for this community of friends, colleagues, and fellow Free Raadicals :
